Data Changelog

This page lists confirmed changes to PlainAttorney data handling, removals, and methodology surfaces. We record only changes that can be checked against a commit, an ETL refresh, or a documented editorial action. It is not a live feed of every New York Office of Court Administration (OCA) registration update; for registration status transitions between retained extracts, use the registration changes hub.

August 9, 2026

• Law-school vitality layout fork. Law-school pages with a high share of deceased alumni now use an aging/mixed composition instead of the chart-first twin that made large schools look identical after digit normalization. Ranking facet chips read live DB counts rather than hand-typed figures.

August 8, 2026

• Individual delistings. Removed two attorney profiles after verified requests (state privacy-law request; individual removal request). Profiles are not restored without a new source-backed justification.
• Honest sitemap lastmod. Static and shard sitemaps now stamp per-page lastmod from git/data vintage instead of a single portal-wide fingerprint.
• Answer capsules on index surfaces. Primary INDEX pages and attorney synthesis bands carry a machine-legible answer capsule for citation and snippet clarity.

August 6, 2026

• Attorney refresh UPSERT + temporal brackets. ETL now upserts attorney rows on refresh and retains paired extracts for the registration-status change layer and RSS feed.
• Open-data catalog hub. Shipped /data so the open exports catalog resolves instead of 404.

Reporting a possible problem

If a figure or profile looks wrong, use the corrections process or email hello@plainattorney.com with the page URL and the field in question. We verify reports against the OCA (or other named) source, correct confirmed issues at the data layer, and add a dated entry here when the change is published.
